Yes, yes, I do. But I feel lucky because I’m not in a regular Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 kind of routine. For some time now, I have been working with the people at Dr. Martens on making shoes. I will be doing that for another year or so. All of you who have been curious, so now you know……

Thing with being an insider is, sometimes it’s difficult to keep your mouth shut. I had wanted to share with you these shoes for a while.

They are part of the Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
在说中文的地区,是叫马汀大夫吧?这些靴子虽然是Dr. Martens明年春夏季的作品,但我忍不住想和你们分享。
2010年春夏ドクターマーチンの新作。

The iconic 8-eye boot will be turning 50 next year but with slight tweaks, it easily looks like a fresh, new product. Whether the familiar version in black leather with trans soles or these ones in school colours with white soles, they are all Dr. Martens to me.

Signature details check.

The upper material may look like canvas…
看起来像帆布的鞋身。。。
キャンバスではありませんよ。

…but it’s not! It is leather indeed so you can expect durability and water-resistant properties.
。。。其实是皮革哦。是一种特殊的皮制的,所以看起来有帆布的轻快感,但有皮革的耐用性和防水功能。
革製です。

Stitching and the heavier Puritan triple stitch in white in contrast to the upper.

Flat white laces and silver eyelets (round laces also available).

Z welt stitch in colour matching upper and grooved sole in white.

White heel loop with black “Air Wair with Bouncing Soles” slogan.

Dr. Martens 1460 in TecTuff Express leather will be available in seven colours: ecru, yellow, red, purple, blue, green and black. My favourite is green, you?

those are WONDERFUL. it’s so hard to choose. yellow, red & purple are jumping out at me right now.
Ah how interesting! Sometimes one can’t help feeling a little bit curious. That must be an interesting brand to work for.
man, i really thought they were canvass at first. i love the photos you took of them. Dr. Martens should consider those for their catalog. ;)
Oh wow! Blue is my favourite. What in the world is TecTuff Express?
So excited about coming to London soon
wow. So hot.
wow…I really like the colours. Green and yellow are my favourites.
I think I might well be buying my first pair of Dr Martens next summer!
what an awesome job!
those shoes are incredibly awesome.
love them all.
WOW I need them in red… I wish I still had all my Doc Marten shoes. I had so many different pairs, black shoes, brick red shoes, steele toe caps shoes ,lace up boots, slip on boots, tartan shoes, loafers… but that was more then 20 years ago now! wonder where they all are now??
Your job sounds too cool! Love the texture of these.
It means Jewish cherry.. I think i definitely need a navy and an emerald green one.(i adore this type of green. I have been to several fabric shops(?) and I cannot find it. so annoying..)
They are so cool, I love the ecru pair. I must buy!
finally! Thanks for sharing your day job! :)
I love the mustard and grey a lot!
oh love them! i have the back leather ones.
This makes me wonder if I ever owned a pair of Doc Martens. I want to say yes I did back in the college days. Then it makes me wonder where the heck they went! Lately, though, whenever I hear this brand name, I think of Tom of Kasabian. He used to work in the factory, didn’t he.
Thanks for sharing with us more about your work, one just can’t help being curious. :) And this new line is fantastic, I think the time for a new pair of dr Martens is coming.
By the way, I stayed away from blog reading for three weeks and going through over 20 posts of yours at one time was such a joy.
OMG, I love them, you’re soooo lucky. Love the blue and purple ones. And the green ones are so cool. Hope they will come to NY so I can buy one of these. Thanks for sharing. And your photos are yummy fantastic, they should use them for their ad. What did you do, di you design them?
wow… i’m gonna have to save some money for a pair of those. you just made me worry about my economy, haha! thanks for sharing, they´re just beautiful.
ooooh… I like the ecru ones! I used to have a pair of black leather 12 hole boots in my teens, I wonder if my 34 year-old feet would find DM’s comfy now? I think I need to check it out!
It’s nice to know what you do
xo
primary colors – love them! i’m going with the navy, but green isn’t far behind!
tommy, these are beautiful! おつかれさまでした!i think i like the eccru best. i’ll look out for them when they come out… i just noticed in a reply to another comment that you’ve never watched totoro. oh, you would love it so! the ネコバス – cat-bus – will please you, for sure.

(re: dumplings) Ha I like the way your mind works!
The shoes are beautiful, to be honest I don’t normally like DMs but these do appeal to me. Japanese market will lap these up. Fresh. Such a simple idea flawlessly executed. Do you feel proud?
OHHmazing! They are all beautiful…couldn’t pick just one color :)
Love the puritan stitch and white soles!
Will they be available in the US?
Can’t wait to get a pair, but god I really don’t know which colour i will choose. I had them in black and burgundy as a teenager.. Now in my early thirties think I’ll go for the beige or perhaps the red…
Good luck with the rest of your work and I love your blog, one of the best around, I find so many of the same things interesting, beautiful and happy all at the same time.

This is so refreshing. Yellow is my fave. Black & green a close second.
Wonderful work.
Beautiful blog.
Where and when are these being stocked in London? Or can you buy online? Have just seen them in Vogue and LOVE them!
