kiki, wl : The suitcase is from Burton (the snowboard brand).

yuko: Thanks! I’ll text you when I get to NYC?

editor: I didn’t make any plans for LA as it’s an in-and-out trip. Will keep Apple Pan in mind, thanks!

skirmishofwit: Yes, you can find the candle in London. Try this flavour, it’s really great.

karen: The t-shirt is made by my friend, Taro Smith. I’m not sure if he still makes them…

viv: I was fluent in Chinese and English. Not so much now that I’ve lived in London for five years but I think it’s still at an acceptable level. I am rather excited about being in LA too even though it’s just a day. First time!

Isabela: It’s a giant robin, so fat. Part of Luella’s Christmas window at Liberty. Maybe you can find more pictures.

Ell: Oh dear, I used to spend Christmas by myself in my first two years of moving to London. Just holed up in my flat with my flatmates or alone (better)! It’s not too bad actually being alone during the holidays if you can find something to be occupied with. I guess I’m optimistic?

read me…: I love Fish Pie! I didn’t see that in the shop.

kim: I think we need more Every body happy soup on menus. I’d definitely order it if it’s winter.

Carole: Portland is cold too, much colder than London, and I wonder if I have under-packed. Can’t wait to be in New York next week.

kim: Yes that is true too. This sacrificing thing, it’s something of an older generation isn’t it? Or I wonder if we may become a bit like that when we age…

catastrophe: What have you been doing with yours?

famapa: I love it more now after you called it a teapot with a beret.

ha ha, well, if l.a. is an in-n-out trip, i urge you to skip in-n-out.
still looking forward to your l.a. post, however brief it might be. i’d like to see it through new eyes. mine are yellowed from the smog. ;)

Oh, Tommy, your blog is better and better every time I visit it.
Enjoy your stay in the US.

  3. Isabela says:

Thank you, I’ve found more pictures of the robin :) I’m thinking of crafting one for this christmas decoration :)

    Enjoy your trip :)

Well, I can’t get used to holidays-the worst reminders of my past. I’m not sure about how to occupy myself. What did you do when you were alone? (and thanks for reminding me that anyone can be in this situation.:)
Otherwise, I really love antique books and secondhand bookshops.-especially the smell of old books.

Hey Tommy thanks so much for the info! I’m gonna drop by the Flea Market this Sunday! I was particular drawn to the old metal dishes/pans and stuff as well! Thanks again!

  6. Carole says:

Tommy, I’m sorry to hear that is it so cold. I’ve never been to Portland or Seattle. I know that NYC’s winter is so cold that I had to buy a Sheepskin jacket to be able to stand the coldest days (usually from January to March). My Paris coats were totally useless. Maybe if you have time a cup of coffee in NYC? But no worries I know schedules can be very tight…

i like them on rice, with just an egg on the side when i can’t be bothered enough to really cook. back in sg, i used to have them on bread – but then the bread here’s not quite the same, of course (haebeehiam on the ubiquitous whiter-than-white bread they sell in singapore is fab).

    do you cook with it?

Hi, Tommy, you don’t strike me as the kind of blogger who does this kind of thing, but I wanted to tell you about it anyway. I’ve named you in my blog with a blog award called the Beautiful Blogger Award. See my site for details: Here to see the award!
