I’ve been listening to the music of Liu Dehai and Lui Pui-Yuen. Both are masters of the pipa but bring the instrument to life in their own ways. I’d like to think that their distinct styles are extensions of their characters. To me, Liu is like day; Lui is like night.

LIU Huayin: 默默地浏览也好，哈哈。《梅兰芳》，我是在飞机上看的。之前根本不知道有这部电影的存在，所以一点期待也没有。你说得很对，特别是电影学院的学生那一点。黎明吗，我觉得他能在整部戏里维持同样一个木讷表情，也是一种功力，哈哈。而章子怡，戏路不就是聪颖刁蛮任性女，加上可爱中带着性感，每部戏里多多少少有玉娇龙的阴影存在。我最喜欢她是在《我的父亲母亲》里，很绿，很嫩，但很灿烂。我想，可能是对梅家的尊重，所以《梅兰芳》故事里有许多情节都是点到为止。我不是很喜欢这类型的人物传记，把活过的人重拍得像圣者似的，《叶问》也是这样。可是《梅兰芳》让我对孟小冬这号人物感到好奇，从所知道的故事和旧照片中看来，她很有意思。

I just wanted to let you know how much I like your blog! It makes me look at everyday things in a different way – I see a lot more beauty in them now. Thank you for todays post, especially for the comparison between the two. For me Liu sounds more warm as Lui sounds clearer. Have a nice day!

天，你竟然放琵琶，太厉害了。我最喜欢的古曲是二泉映月，赛马曲，春江花月夜，和平沙落燕。
我最喜欢章子怡的片子也是 我的父亲母亲，那部片也很美。从那之后张艺谋的每部片都成了大家讽刺的对象。章还有一部片我比较喜欢“茉莉花开”，不知道你看过没。章演了好几个角色，其中有她的典型角色，但也有其他性格成分，那部片把我看哭了好久。之后她就再也没有过任何突破了。我看过一次她的采访，说话挺没水准的，我看她演技也很难有突破了。据说，她想自己出钱拍孟小冬传，目前是遭孟家反对。
我很同意你说的这类传记片都把人拍的跟圣人似的，我经常是看了这种片，对那些人物就很感兴趣，再wiki查他们的资料，发现现实和电影有差距，搞的我好失望。“叶问”确实是把他拍的成个新好男人，不过我还算喜欢这部片，成功商业片的元素都有，没有惊喜，但手段都很职业，在美国的话，应该可以入围Oscar吧，呵呵。我主要是喜欢它的打斗场景，好过瘾。
