Breakfast.

Melon pan with caramel filling.

The tastiest thing you can buy with ¥10 – Umai-bou!

A pretty place in Harajuku.

A very kind and generous gesture from Chie at Head Porter when she heard about my delayed luggage. This coat kept me warm for today.

Spam burger, fried potato and onion rings at Freshness Burger.

Otoooo-san!

Back in hotel to find luggage has arrived after a “mini-rush”.

Grocery shopping at Kinokuniya International…

…and Natural House.

Gucci.

Chanel Christmas tree.

Icons made of paper.

Omotesando Hills’ photo spot.

Unusual gelato flavours at kurkku3: tomato, celery, basil, parmigiano reggiano, gorgonzola…

Soba with vegetable and black vinegar sesame dipping sauce.

Starter and dessert in one. The sweet and refreshing celery gelato is a perfect match to the savoury and rich gorgonzola gelato.

cassaundra: Yes, it is Pendleton. As for luggage, I don’t usually have tantrums, I sulk!
wl: I appreciate them more because people would probably get a kick out of breaking them if it was London. Thanks for link to Wu Fei!
editor: Oh, I don’t need any excuses to shop. I have no guilt. I just don’t like being obliged to buy things or search for things. I don’t usually shop on the first day either – it’s for acquainting or re-acquainting myself with the place. Have also learned my lesson to pack an extra set of clothes in my hand luggage. Dean & Deluca – looks rather successful!
Francoise, alice, Kiki, Sneaky Magpie, if jane and Ell: Luggage has arrived and everything is intact. Tomorrow will be better!
Annette: Berlin, I haven’t been back for ages! A weekend trip will be nice. Which months will you recommend?
Jamie: I haven’t found this sense of freedom although I can imagine what it will be like. I wouldn’t mind if I was stuck with one or two sets of my own clothes, but not others. Have to watch what I do with them… Happy birthday! I hope you get something nice to eat at least. My weight has been steadily increasing over the past few years so all these food is going somewhere!
Clara: Actually Singapore has the craziest Christmas lights I’ve ever seen.
lucas: Oh wow, that will be an experience! Will you be building houses? I could never do something like that because I am funny about sanitary facilities.
A note on: food, friend, japan, lifestyle, me, panasonic lumix dmc-g1, restaurant, shopping, tokyo, travel

I would be sulking too if I had to go to Tokyo without the clothes I’ve chosen! I’m so glad they came through after just one day’s delay.
I love how your Lumix is left handed! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
Hope you have a good Christmas in Tokyo! Are you having that ‘traditional’ meal of fried chicken? Glad your luggage got there too.

Nice photos :) Any recommendations for good (but not too expensive) hotels/places to stay in Tokyo?

Sigh, me again — I just realized that was a mirror, not someone else taking a picture of you taking a picture of them. (This after randomly dropping the left handed camera idea on a friend, who said, “Um, you sure?”)
Did you try any of those gelatos? Every time I think of gorgonzola, I think of one top chef episode in which a chef tried to sell gorgonzola on top of watermelon, and all the judges were like, “ew…”
hey, how do you i will go there for building!?
I’m going to build the roof for an orphanage a!
i m worried about the sanitary situation of india though i have been injected n taken medicine for preventing some diseases..
