外苑前 Gaienmae – 浅草 Asakusa – 馬喰町 Bakurocho – 自由が丘 Jiyugaoka

Shops along Asakusa Nakamise.

Sensoji under renovation.

Hanayashiki, the oldest amusement park in Japan.

Nico and fried potato.

Nico, Akemi and Chieko who is my guide for today.

Up we go!

Wholesale snack shop on Kappabashi-dori.

Naan on sale.

Lunch at yoshoku restaurant. I had omu-rice.

Akemi and Nico shared Spaghetti Napolitan.

Chieko had crab cream croquette.

Best find so far in Bakurocho.

Akemi brought me to this camera shop in Jiyugaoka where I found some Artistic TZ film! The store reminds me of the magazine, Joshi Kamera.

Nico is very much into earthworms (mimizu!) recently. I can’t remember the last time I saw an earthworm. I guess only children see things like that.

Cherry pie and cafe latte. In the background are her mimizu.

Bakeshop reminds me of places in America and London but is better put together than some of its influences!

A pair of forgotten chopsticks outside the hotel entrance, I guess someone just made the same trip to the combini.

At am/pm. Bento to microwave…

…or cold sandwiches?

The dessert shelf is also looking a bit empty at this time of the day.

Dinner from am/pm and strawberries from Natural House bought a few days ago. I skipped the strawberries anyway after the sandwiches and crisps.

ksf and lucie: I’m happy that you’re enjoying seeing Tokyo through my photos.
ai: I like them very much. I don’t usually like Christmas fruit cake but hoco’s version was very good. I also like the spice chiffon cake but I always like chiffon cake. Cheese pudding which can be quite rich was balanced with a tart raspberry sauce. I didn’t get a sugar headache even after sampling so much!
Ell: Chestnut baguette is sweet. It reminds me of Italian baking with chestnut flour. Hara makes doughnuts and roll cakes with soy milk and okara, a natural by-product of soy milk making. Their cakes are supposed to be healthier than usual.
Maypeck: And the baker’s muffin too, at City Bakery, if you can. It’s huge but amazing.
A note on: food, friend, japan, lifestyle, panasonic lumix dmc-g1, restaurant, shopping, tokyo, travel

I too went to A.P.C. and COW BOOKS yesterday.. hehe. Your Tokyo stay looks very nice and I love your viewpoint of everything. what you see.. what you feel.. Relax slowly today :)

I was thinking that I would use your Lo-Fi London guide with my Lonely Planet guides when my friends and I plan for weekend trips. I’ll be studying post-modern British Literature at Oxford (though Communications is my major, but it’s considered a post-graduate course and I’m only an undergraduate). After a semester, I’ll be in China to visit family!
I’m really enjoying your Tokyo pictures! Hopefully there’s time for me to swing by there from London to Hong Kong!
I thought your omurice and napolitan were also wax samples!
I wonder who would pay 3700 yen for that tawashi turtle and display in their home!? :)
The best time to come and visit (weather-wise) Berlin is May / June or late August / early September I would say. What are Umai-bou (Let’s go to T. #13)?
The dogs! Hysterical. Yet all somehow screaming ‘take me home’. Ha.
