winner

Congratulations, Marion!

90 names were entered into a list before being randomly ordered and assigned a number each. A number was then generated at random and matched to the list.

And to everyone else who responded to my question: I appreciate all your comments and have noted them down for future reference. Perhaps you may see your suggestion being followed or your question being answered in the coming months, or perhaps not. I am always open to feedback but I also think it’s essential to maintain a strong sense of one’s own direction. Thank you for taking part!

Replies

Thom: I will try to update Camera FAQ more often but I honestly don’t have that many tricks up my sleeve.

hayley: There will be a little bit more of Tokyo coming up. And Scandinavia is most definitely on my list to visit for this year.

viv: No shovelling, no duties. We’re not really good with dealing with snow. The streets are so icy at the moment.

Indie Mom and the Reluctant Banker: I’m still hanging in there. I think I’ve been lucky to escape a little of it this year.

jing: Check Alison’s (and ask her to post her recipe for oily eggs!).

nico, wera, editor, gracia, Yen, melly, lucie, charlotte, EniaIs(Almost)Here, Graham Hutson, Carole, BonjourJuliette, petoskystone, Marina, if jane and marie: I think there must be more photogenic areas with snow and it does seem a shame not to seek them out but I’ve got this cough I can’t seem to shake off! Looking forward to February now.

July: Yes to green tea macarons! And a collaboration with a Kyoto kimono shop so the box comes with kimono prints!

nanikaa: ISO 100 and 200 negatives from Fuji and Kodak. I took these over a period of time.

read me…: I think the milk spoon was a gift with purchase for children’s milk formula or something like that, that’s why it’s so small. I love using it!

alice: Your pictures are amazing. I’ve never experienced knee-deep snow…

lola is beauty: I’m wearing the Hunters with nylon/cotton leggings from M&S and thick wool socks from Tabio. OK for a few hours but when I had to stay out for a day, my toes were frozen too!

Grace: Did you like the oatcakes? I like them with nut butter and jam too.

Tamami: What a surprise! I met Mai twice in London through some friends. As for the camera, get it! I can’t say more good things about the 30 mm pancake lens.

Chiara: Andrew has since stolen the blanket.

Andreas: I hope you’ll find some things you like from the list when you next drop by! I’m sure Tamami will have good places to point you to.

Voo: I hear Portland is freezing!

Samantha: I’ll try to share some of my recipes in the coming month.
