Nadia Izruna is the maker of Nadinoo, a line of clothing she brings to life from start to finish.

Nadinoo is the childhood nickname of Nadia, given to her by her sisters and brother.

Nadia works out of a studio in her canal-side apartment in East London.

She has a sunny disposition and takes a lot of care in what she does.

Fleur, Lula and Pixie are the three imaginary muses she designs for, after which most pieces in each collection are named.

Some of the Liberty prints used in Nadinoo’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

One of her favourite pieces from the current season.

Starting up her inspiration wall for Autumn/Winter 2010.

Fabrics picked for the new season.

Nadia is inspired by how women used to dress, particularly from the 1920s. She sometimes start her design process with research on vintage patterns that she adapts to suit how women now dress.

As Nadia is so personally involved with all stages of the creation of a Nadinoo garment, she is glad to have Alva, her assistant, join her recently, even if it’s for a little while.

Styling Nadinoo products, with vintage pieces she has collected, is a most enjoyable part of the process.

One of her favourites in her vintage collection is this piece that almost got away. An elderly woman grabbed the blouse off the rail before she could react but returned it due to a closed fitting room.

Here she has gathered some bits and bobs perfect for an autumnal escape.

During busy periods, Nadia works more than 15 hours a day. She takes occasional breaks with a book or a magazine on her balcony.

Thank you Nadia for letting me into your day.

Allie: Jessica Ogden doesn’t seem to be producing her own line anymore; I bought the coat many years ago at a sample sale and I’m not sure if it was ever produced. Sorry to disappoint you!
Diane C. and Jenny: I bought Campbell’s Soup thermos at Urban Outfitters in London a year ago. I thought I saw them recently! Maybe there will be a restock.
read me…: I’m not crazy about Hello Kitty but I like the retro version with that style of print. Gifts though, they are…
saamielola: Yes, it’s a very inspiring place with lots to learn about.
Tofu, May, Bardotty, skirmishofwit, Stephanie Renee, Gela, hannah, Su-Lin and celine: If you were wondering why my bag contents look so neat, it’s because I have my “reset” days and yesterday was one of them. I’m very much in love with the basket and will be hunting for more!
Mrs Gorman: Ah, I don’t really need any help from the text. I tend to dérive mostly when I am left to my own with nothing to read or do!
charlotte, Sue Anne and kris: I wrap the camera in a hanky mainly because I have a phobia of losing the lens cap. Sometimes I wear it around my shoulder so it’s a good form of prevention. But now that charlotte has mentioned, it’s a good dust protector too! It’s not much of a padding really but I think the FM2 is a camera that can take a few knocks, huh?
alice: Yes! I like “bag” posts. I think that might have been my first.
Maeko: Oh, I’m sure there will be something in your life worth documenting. Everyone’s different but finding
yz: So heavy, I look like a hag sometimes dragging my things around!
maria: On a whole, what I’ve read of “The Society of the Spectacle”, I feel is hugely relevant still today. I’ve only got through one essay in the journal and so, can’t judge, but was introduced to a text, “One-Dimensional Man”, through it. What was quoted seems to make a lot of sense still. Personally I think it’s important to always maintain a revolutionary streak, not with the aim of toppling any regime, but to provoke, to keep things in check.
mr sekimachihato: I think it was from Tokyo, a gift. Never seen the brand in London either!
EllE: Thank you!
Carole: I’ve been checking out shots from the Impossible Project but have yet to be tempted. I like colour…

Oh so gorgeous! Beautiful studio, beautiful clothing, beautiful photographs. I love that she designs for girls out of her imagination. I know I’ll return to look at this post again & again.
I tend to think everyone would be happier with a balcony, haha. Her balcony’s awesome, so cute but just enough. The view’s pretty good too. I’ve loved her clothes for awhile now, her work’s so distinct – it’s all very amazing.
her designs are lovely! and she seems so happy & content w/ what she’s doing. i want that. :)

i’ve been on the lookout for a leather case for my fm2 and want to try to find an original nikon one, but this is quite tempting as well: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jacobtang/4091450967/
i am in love with your blog! this people at work series is full on inspiration & beauty.
i love this. makes me miss my sewing machine that i gave up coming from europe. not that i would be capable of doing such butiful things, but i like sewing. btw, i think the impossible project will work on color too. i think b&w came first. i’m happy there is an alternative to buying old polaroid films from ebay.
Absolutely beautiful!! If I were as gorgeous as her model, this would be my wardrobe…
