The Conran Shop calls it “a stalwart of kitchen design”, I like how it looks right (classic, simple design) but slightly wrong (placement of words in the squares) at the same time.

It is pretty amazing how Tala Cook’s Dry Measure hasn’t changed much since its introduction in the ’50s.

Probably best for measuring dry ingredients for recipes that need not be executed with military-like precision, it certainly made my life a lot easier when I was making up a new batch of toasted muesli last night. Would also work well for crumble toppings, flapjacks, and the like.

joop: I am addicted to film photography now. The photos of Holga Flickr groups are so beautiful, but you are right, shooting 120 can be costly…
Planethalder: It was as entertaining as you expect any blockbusters to be. I remain emotionally detached through the movie as Transformers really wasn’t a big part of my childhood, but strangely, got worried about the writers killing off Optimus Prime in the sequel, I can just see that coming…
tsilli: I had a look at some Holga cameras on Saturday, didn’t know they were so affordable! Is there a model you’ll recommend?
jessi: Thanks for the info, it’s such a gamble isn’t it?
lottie: I got a gem of a tin when I was in Munich. Eight mini loaves in one pan, a godsend, much easier than fiddling with individual tins.
Bollettieri: Aren’t you lucky to get a pair of the Shakers now? I think they are quite in demand. Munich was OK, but it isn’t my kind of city. Beer drinking isn’t really one of my favourite things to do, unfortunately. Hopefully you can make it here in October, but I might visit somewhere in Italy after August.
chun: I always reduce the butter and sugar content of my bakes as far as I can push it. Perhaps you can increase the butter by about 50% next time you make it, but there’s always clotted cream to save the day later if the butter content is too low. How are the blueberries in Canada? I’m stuffing myself with summer fruits.
