Good morning.

My favourite breakfast recently is a banana and soy milk shake. Sometimes I add other fruits like strawberries. Always a teaspoon of spirulina powder and maybe some toasted soy bean powder too.

What happens if you don’t drink it immediately and lets it sit…

The Chinese lunisolar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. Yesterday was 立秋 (li qiu) the start of autumn.

At Hampstead, shopping at the farmers’ market.

All sorts of mint! Black mint, Moroccan mint, peppermint, spearmint, apple mint, chocolate mint… I bought a pot of bergamot mint.

Excited to cook with these.

My mess.

Koba.

Dolsot Bibimbap.

Happy.

These makes me wish I have a microwave oven.

At the cinema to see Jacques Mesrine.

Surprise when I got to this end of Carnaby Street.

I’m so glad Liberty has decided to embrace its granny floral image again.

Over a dinner of okonomiyaki with Thomas, Sharon and Steve last week, the idea of Eton mess was planted in my head. I had my first taste today at Bob Bob Ricard.

Like! End of a floral-heavy day.

sufia: I’m obsessed with traditional Japanese prints and Chinese crafts at the moment.
tuan: Responsibility! They were for magazines. Unlike the usual self-indulgent photos.
Ell: Couverture is a rather unusual shop even for London. Not many like it around…
maria: Oh you’ll be going to Kanazawa too? I always wanted to visit.
M, farhana and anna1luka: Thank you!
Stanley: Oh I know On Pedder! I got an online scan of the magazine, it’s a good feature.
sopchan: I think it’s pu’er cha.
Meream: I really wouldn’t like to provoke that response… I feel inadequate too when I see amazing illustrations. As much as I’d like to, I can’t draw.
A note on: a day in the life of, flower, food, lifestyle, market, me, panasonic lumix dmc-g1, restaurant, shopping

i worked this saturday, so it’s really nice someone else was enjoying it. it’s already 立秋, yet it’s not too hot at all this summer partly due to the extra long rainy season we had had here in japan. what’s it like there? also did they have pennyroyal mint!? (i just ordered the dried one to keep away fleas. can you believe i found one in my apartment when i don’t even have pets!? i’ve been freaking out over it. okay, too much info. i apologize.) i love the liberty walls! insanely girly. i’ve never heard of eaton mess before. it looks quite funky.
Good you love it.
such lovely lovely pictures!
I love Dolsot Bibimbap! It looks like a simple dish but there’s something in its taste that I would find myself craving for.
What a lovely looking day! Where is Hampstead Farmers’ Market by the way? I would love to check it out! Is it the same as the covered market off the highstreet?
Another marvellous day! I’m so jealous because I spent the weekend sleeping and feeling sorry for myself because I had the lergy or something similar. How did the eton mess go down?
