caroline (via contact form): Thank you for the mail, and the link!

nicole (via contact form): I came to London on a Working Holiday visa that lasts for two years. It’s rather difficult to find a job before you move unless if you’re coming here to work in a profession that has shortages such as medicine.

Marion (via contact form): Good to know, have fun in Berlin!

sue (via contact form): I am happy to receive your mail, thank you for writing!

caroline, maria, Enia Is (Almost) Here, Bardotty, Kiki and The Style Curator: I saw the ad for the first time in the cinema and it looked excellent on the big screen. Though slightly confused to find out that it is a promotional ad for the ITV1 channel.

Terry: Bulghur salad – bulghur wheat 8 oz (225 g), small green pepper 1, spring onions, chopped 2 tbsp (30 ml), chopped parsley 3 tbsp (45 ml) soya sauce 3 tbsp (45 ml), french dressing 6 tbsp (90 ml), salt & pepper to taste. Place the bulghur wheat in a mixing bowl and pour 3/4 pt (450 ml) boiling water over it. Fork through from time to time and leave to cool. Chop the green pepper. Fluff up the bulghur wit a fork, then add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Adjust seasoning to taste. Cover and chill until required. Serves 6. French dressing – lemons, juice of 2, cider or wine vinegar 4 tbsp (60 ml), salt 1 1/2 tsp (7.5 ml), pepper 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml), French mustard 1 tbsp (15 ml), raw brown sugar (optional) 2 tsp (10 ml), oil 3/4 pt (450 ml). Method 1 – Put lemon juice, vinegar, salt, pepper, mustard and sugar into a jug. Whisk with a fork until evenly blended, then slowly work in the oil. Method 2 – Put all the ingredients together into a liquidiser goblet and blend for a few seconds. Method 3 – Shake all the ingredients together in a screw-topped jar. Store in the refrigerator. Makes for about 1 pt (600 ml).

Jamie: Glad to know you enjoyed Manufactum. It’s one of the reasons why I want to return to Germany. Goonies – one of my friend’s child is obsessed!

Mausumi: I’m having problems with my bandwidth usage so limiting RSS access is a temporary solution until I work something out. One hour photo lab – I usually use Snappy Snaps but quality of service and price varies from branch to branch.

Megan: Yes, it was a very memorable incident.
